His form may seem normal or even humanoid to some, something scandalous in the Abyss, but he uses this to contort beings to his will. You see, he sees sport in tormenting a soul to his creation. Many call him the Soulsmith or Soulbender, but he prefers the name The Fallen. ### Sullen Past As an angel, Janos was one of strength and destruction. He sought to fight the many ranks of fiends and protect the planes from certain doom. His tactical prowess combined with his supreme fighting capabilities created an impressive being who rose high in the ranks of celestial beings. Though he didn't lead under any certain deity, he was often called upon by [[The Just Sword]] or [[The Lifebringer]] to bring justice. Janos was approached by [[The Just Sword]] about an important secret mission. He was to take several of his strongest allies to thwart a meeting in the [[Abyss]], killing the demons involved. Janos agreed and gathered several angels to descend into the [[Abyss]], somewhere angels rarely tread. They attacked the fiends with great ferocity, driving away the minions and standing their ground against the demons before them. However, the angels were outmatched, two falling in the ensuing conflict with the rest, including Janos, being captured. The torture lasted centuries. They killed him again and again, twisting and contorting him into weird beasts and beings until he finally snapped. Janos stepped from the torture chamber a new being. Though physically not much had changed, the will of this once shining angel was that of the Abyss. Immediately, he craved retribution; The lord of [[Mount Celestia]] was to fall before Janos's knees, begging for mercy as he was cut down. ### The Flood The next millennia was spent twisting souls and gathering an army of demons, his eyes firmly affixed on the golden mountain. Janos approached the Prince of Demons, [[Demogorgon]], and asked for aid in his conquest. [[Demogorgon]] agreed under one condition. Janos was to capture [[Quah-Nomag]], the priest responsible for [[Orcus]]'s second resurrection, and bring them to their knees before [[Demogorgon]]. Despite the high rank, [[Quah-Nomag]] was an easy mark. Death was an honor for ones in [[Orcus]]'s ranks so many priests and devotees had little protection other than what they could muster themselves. The [[Prince of Demons]] was pleased with Janos's speed. [[Demogorgon]] granted Janos access to a small portion of the horde of demons under their command. This "small" portion equated to 50,000 lesser demons to use in his conquest. Though he received a number of troops from [[Demogorgon]], Janos knew it wasn't enough. These lesser demons were no soldiers. No, he needed more help. Janos turned to [[Orion]], a veritable feast ripe for the taking. One need only reach [[Orion]] to bathe in an ocean of souls. However, the ways of demons were vile in Janos's eyes. He wanted to craft the souls into a beast which could tear deities limb from limb. Only then would he have his retribution.
